Lydgate Beach Park

An ideal snorkeling and swimming location with a sandy lagoon surrounded by a wall of boulders.
Kauai's dramatic North Shore is an enchanting myriad of rugged mountains, sparkling waterfalls, lush green fields, blissful beaches, alluring coastlines, and spectacular sea cliffs. It is amazing how much, for the pleasure of all your senses, is available in just one area of Kauai.

Hanalei

This Beach, located near Princeville, reveals the grandeur of valleys and mountains and highlights its charming sisters, Wainiha and Haena, blending perfectly with their colorful shops, galleries, and restaurants. Your stay will be heavenly and your choices are several, ranging from historic bed & breakfasts, unbelievable and secluded rental homes, breathtaking cottages, charming inns, or luxurious resort.

Ke’e Beach

Ideal for snorkeling; Limahuli Gardens with its tropical plants and ocean views; and the wet and dry caves with their enchanting myths. The grand finale is Kauai's magnificent Napali Coast; you'll be enthralled with its 17-mile stretch of coastline and 4,000-foot cliffs, accented with lush green valleys, cascading waterfalls, and mysterious sea caves -- none of it accessible via automobile, so the journey is as adventurous as the destination.

The word Napali stands for "cliffs". The Napali "cliffs' were created over millions of years, rising at first from an active volcano that began on the ocean floor. The north shore of Kauai "fell off" of the island creating the Napali Coast. Kauai was the first island created in the Hawaiian Island chain and it is the oldest of the islands. This ia a great island for the whole family to enjoy on your Kauai Vacation.

The Napali Coast is about 17 miles long and has three ways you can access it. One way to access the Napali Coast is by hiking on the Kalalau Trail. Another way to access it by air, going on a helicopter or plane ride to view its natural, raw beauty. And lastly you can access the Napali Coastline by a boat. Caution must be used if you are trying to land on the Napali Coast by boat. Its shores are pounded by swells that can be unforgiving and rip currents are commonplace.

Drownings occur regularly here. Use caution!

The Napali Coast on the Island of Kauai is world famous for its raw and natural beauty. With cliffs that rise out of the ocean to over 4000 feet tall, valleys that have been cut into its landscape that leave you breathless it's no wonder that you will want to sail the Napali Coast on a catamaran adventure and hike the entire Napali Coast on the Kalalau Trail. The Napali Coast is a "must do" while on your vacation to Kauai.

It is important to choose the time of the year that you visit the Napali Coast. During the winter months the weather can cause extreme swells which can cause the trip to the Napali Coast to be less enjoyable. The best times to visit the Napali Coast is usually between March 15th and October 1st.
